“Ragtime” -  D E & I -

#UtahShakepeareFestival, Cedar City, Utah

I was glad I purchased my tickets weeks ago as the theatre was packed.  And or good reasons – Ezekeil Andrew and Medlinda Pfundstein – the lead roles in the musical.  Add Aaron Galigan-Stierle and Marlene Montes and you have the makings of memorable musical theatre.

And for me – it was music, dance and singing.

Three cultures of American Society meet at the opening, the story of each gets told and come bsck together, in a different way at the end.
Do Take the time to see this musical and our gain a different outlook on D E & I.

Official Synopsis of the Play -

The worlds of a wealthy white couple, a Jewish immigrant father and daughter, and an African-American ragtime musician intertwine and sometimes collide as they seek the American dream at the volatile turn of the twentieth century. In this award winning musical, their lives sweep across the diversity of the American experience to create a stirring epic that captures the beats of a nation: the conflicts, the hope and despair, the search for justice, and—of course—the ragtime.
