Financial Success – It’s a Mindset

Financial Success – It’s A Mindset!

Looking Back

When we went through the exercise on your WHY, we talked about making money is not your WHY. But maybe that’s your goal – at least to start. That could be your mindset, but will it bring success?

Double Check Your Mindset

Let’s check to see if your dream/mindset still matches what you’ve already done?

After 32 weeks of writing about your dream, your business, your goals, your WHY - What is your Dream?  ______________________________________

Does it match your WHY   Yes _____   No _____

Do you even know? ______________________________________________

Knowing your WHY, having a dream and having an elevator pitch you say with confidence, requires a mindset for success. Were you brought up to dream or to follow directions?

“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting”.
Paulo Coelho
Author of the Alchemist

Mindset

Were you convinced to have a mindset that these sayings were true?

  • Money doesn’t grow on trees.
  • There’s not enough money to go around.
  • You have to have money to make money.
  • You have to work too hard to get money.
  • Money is the root of all evil.
  • You can’t buy happiness.
  • If I become wealthy, people will resent me.

To determine your mindset, answer this question –

What does wealthy mean to me? _____________________________

Dream

Using your meaning of wealth, It’s time to decide what you want in your life. Envision your ideal life and write about it.

Dream as big as you dare to using these questions, write down your hearts’ desires.  Give yourself permission to list everything you want.

For now, don’t worry about “how” you’ll achieve those goals, just “what” are the goals.

How much net profit would you like your business to earn?

What do you want your net worth to be?

How much do you really want to be making every year?

Being debt free requires eliminating all my debt.  I want to do this by __________.

I want ___________ In savings and investments by _________________________.

Thinking about your WHY and your Purpose Statement and it probably contains a way to make a difference in your community.  Write how you will make a difference.

What would  it be?

            Service _________________________________________________

            Legacy _________________________________________________

            Contributions ___________________________________________

Now think about your Vision Statement. Are these wants included in it? If not you’ll want to rewrite it.

With your life purpose and vision statements more clearly defined, you need to check your goals, be sure they match.

“The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high, and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.”

Michaelangelo

One of the greatest artists of all time.

Change

What’s your financial mindset now?

Whether you’ve kept your various statements the same or realized they need to be different, don’t hesitate to change them. You’ll need to check them each year during annual reset. If your company focus changes because of buyer demand, you may have to change how you accomplish your goals in order to meet your vision and WHY. DO IT! Being stubborn about making changes won’t help you meet your dream. The world changes every day, and your business will evolve with it. Embrace it and be the solution for your customers they want and need. It will bring you Financial Success.
